NEW APP: Appetite - Grocery List and Recipe Manager

Hello,

We recently released a new application, Appetite and we are asking for some feedback.

Appetite can help you manage recipes and grocery lists in one place. You can upload and download recipes from the Appetite recipe channel, or just create and save recipes on your phone. Appetite also has a feature that allows you to create a grocery list automatically from your recipe, so you won't forget any items when making a new recipe.

Appetite is also a grocery list manager. With Appetite you can check-off items on your grocery lists, store the price of a particular item, make a note if you have a coupon for a particular item and more. As you shop, Appetite also calculates your shopping total.

Download here:
OTA trial

ZIP

We have plans for a lot more features. In the meantime, tell us what you think.

Thanks!

That's a freaking great program.

A few questions before I pay for it
1. How much is it? (I looked at the website briefly and didnt' see that)
2. Are you planning on adding more recipes to the channels?
3. Will we be able to import our own recipes from other sites?

Just a suggestion---I also have a few recipe books on Mobi Pocket that are saved to my SD card...it would be awesome if you could add the accessibility on the program to pull recipes from mobi pocket...dont know if that can be done though. I can dream right?

Thanks for your interest.

Yes there are more recipes coming. The Appetite channel is where all the recipes of all Appetite users will be displayed, so the recipes of the Appetite channel will grow as the community grows. As for the other channels, those channels are provided by our channel providers and they will be actually adding recipes within the days to come. There is no extra download, they will just appear under the channels.

It is 9.99 after the trial, BUT there is a coupon code that will provide a 15% discount if used before December 30. Use MEALTIME on the purchase page and it will deduct the savings.

As for importing recipes from other sites, as of right now, the only way to to this is with our channel providers, we are signing alot of new channel providers, so some of our user's favorite websites, cookbooks, and chefs will have the ability to share their recipes.

Thumbs up

Also, users have the ability to upload recipes to to the Appetite channel from Appetite, by selecting "Share Recipe" and choosing the online category that best fits the recipe.

Or..

You can create and use your free web-portal account and submit recipes that way. http://www.simpleleap.com/appLogin.htm

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ Downloaded OTA and am gonna use it for my free trial. I am all about free apps though and I have been using Maratick I found in another forum here. I really love it and it has multiple shortcuts used so you don't find yourself clicking the menu button each time as with Appetite. There are more options though so I might be sold after 10 days. If you find this app has more than you need though check out Maratick...

I definitely will...possibly before my Appetite trial is up, thx for the tip.

I am/would only be using either app for lists, I still use cooks.com for recipe searches so I'll see which of the two apps work out best in the end.

We do plan on integrating shortcuts within a future update to Appetite to make the recipe and grocery list functions easier to execute.

I haven't tried this program yet, but I have a question/suggestion. Is there (or will there be) a feature to rate shared recipes? Everyone has their own variation on a dish, and it'd be great to see user ratings and comments like there are on allrecipes.com.

Yes, you actually do have the ability to rate shared recipes.

You can also download a fully-functional trial of Appetite for 10-days...

Download Over-the-Air from your BlackBerry

or

Download zip and use BlackBerry Desktop Manager

Appetite v. 1.1.0 - Merge Grocery Lists

Hey, just want to inform everyone Appetite has been updated.

Now you have the ability to easily merge grocery lists for your convenience. This version also adds the support for BES users.

To update, launch Appetite and the application should immediately begin searching for updates...follow the prompts.

If you turned off the check for updates on startup feature, launch Appetite and select "Check for Updates" from the menu and follow the prompts.

If you have not yet downloaded or tried out Appetite, you can download it directly from your BlackBerry (OTA) here or download the zip for desktop installation.

We have plans of more updates for Appetite as well as Cram, and TalkLater!

Hope someone will answer this question:

How long does the trial last? I've looked up and down the forums and cant seem to find this information.

Also the website just says 'Download Trial' but not much more....

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

This app isn't very good. I downloaded a few recipes and in my grocery list there was ingrediants missing and some things added that weren't even in the recipes. I'd fix that before people start paying.
