pearl problem

8120 pearl has issues when scrolling up on web pages. It will scroll down just fine but it feels like there is something not quite right with it.

Any ideas? This is an intermittent problem.

You could have something, dirt or lint stuck in your trackball area. Do you carry in your pocket, this could be the cause. Best course of action is to buy a case. You may also get lucky and find a respected repair shop/dealer who can clean it without voiding your warranty. Hope this helps and feel free to PM me with any other questions.

Also if you are out of warranty, or really brave you may try this, but be aware it could void your warranty if you have one:

Hope this helps . . .

I think I will wait for the warranty to run out before I try the self cleaning option.

I carry it in the supplied BB leather holster so it is kept quite clean, but nothing is perfect. Like I said it is intermittent so will put up with it for now.

Thanks for the response.

Is it only on web pages or all together scrolling up?
If its only for the browser it might be software related... And if you are having s hard time scrolling using your trackball then is probably just dirt.
Here is a tip to make it work again... That is if you want a little unorthodox way of getting your trackball working again... take a tiny amount of cigarette ash and roll it into your trackball and you should be set. Again... This method is not the most recommended one but definitely gets the job done.
Let us know if you get your problem fixed. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
