i talked to 2 people in blackberry support from nextel and they both say nextel will release a new blackberry in oct. i hope its true

CDMA 8703e is next on the lineup, many sources have shown this. There are not even any rumors of an iDEN only BB. RIM, Sprint and Nextel could surprise is with a hybrid, that would be great.

My personal opinion: I have no idea at all, what I want and what may happen are on 2 different sides of the world!

I talked to a Regional RIM saleman last week. As Chris said I think the hybrid will be the next thing that we will see from Nextel for BB. It is in keeping with the Sprint/Nextel merger to merge both systems, Sprint gets DC and Nextel opens their sites up and we get Sprint phone service!! Of course only time will tell.

I would like to see Nextel get another/newer blackberry, the 7100 is great but some functions and programs on there plus the network is slower then GSM. i think that model is a little outdated. Still i want to upgrade my nextel to a BB Nextel , just dont have one i like yet.

Update: Look at q2 of next year at the earliest, a Hybrid bb. This unit will use Sprints CDMA network for voice, and Nextel's iDen network for dispatch.

Supposidly Sprint has been working together with nextel to expand their Voice coverage..because sprint's CDMA has better voice over the iDEN nextel..for some time now. Making (I THINK) all 2way iDEN...so no matter if you have a sprint branded Push to Talk or a Nextel Branded 2way phone you will be able to talk to both networks at the push of a button. I guess they are refering these tobe the Hybrid Phones.

Awsome Idea. But Nextel Support is and always has been better then Sprint.

For CDMA id go with verizon over sprint anyday.

Yea this is why years ago i switched from Sprint. All hype and no upgrades...but now im back with them...Just for the work cell my peronal one is still Tmobile.
