What is this?
It is a simple, but very powerful tool that will let you reply to emails on your BlackBerry just using your voice - either speaking directly into your BlackBerry, or while wearing a Bluetooth headset. It is seamlessly integrated into the email application you already use, it claims to be 3-5 times faster than ‘thumbing’ text, you won’t be known for sending just terse replies because you don’t want to thumb type out a normal email message and you will be safer because you won’t have to take your eyes off the road.

I've been using this for a long time now. When I used a Nextel BB I used NextMail, which only let you use voice to email service. Jott offers a lot more.

I don't use these features, but have seen on the site you can use it for blogs, journals, even Remember the Milk!

You're right, Jott has been out a while now. My post was specifically to announce the Jott for BlackBerry application, which was just released. As for the normal Jott service, I use it in conjunction with both Remember the Milk and Google Calendar; it rocks!

So this replies with a Sound attachment( .wav .mp3 ), or it types for you and sends a txt based mail??

Well that would be super sweet if it would DL, it doesn't see the 8320 as a Curve

It looks great and I'd be willing to buy it as software but not as an ongoing service. I don't need it's underpinnings to be tethered to me. As a standalone, I'm game though.

That's odd, what sort of error are you getting? It dl'd fine on my 8310.

Good question, I also have multiple addresses configured on my device. After a little testing it looks like no matter which email address you reply from, it will send it from your default BlackBerry email address. There's no option to change this that I can find. You would think that by default it would sent it from the same address that you received the original email at...

This is pretty good. Does a nice job of transcribing. Even unusal words & names are being transcribed. Wonder what they're using? Would be funny if it was a live person doing it! Well, a little funny & scary. Who wants that job!

I've wondered the same thing! It does almost seem that it has to be a live person doing the transcribing with some of the crazy words it manages to get right. Although I have had it totally screw up some pretty simple words on occasion as well...

I don't think so. I think by "limited beta" it just means that once it's out of beta they will start charging a fee for the service. I just tried the download again and it still works fine for me.

Are you talking about within the normal www.jott.com service? Have you tried going to the "add contacts" link on the right side of the main page? It lets you import contacts from various sources.

I only see the one to input manually. Where is the link for importing?

Can I get to it on my PC?
