China Mobile chooses Blackberry over Iphone


China Mobile said it will soon be offering Blackberry handhelds in China. The statement comes a day after the company pulled out of talks with Apple over an Iphone deal.

The BlackBerry 8700 will be the first Chinese offering but it will be for business use not individuals.

tah an the iphone is a closed platform and askign apple to do everything you can unlock berrys on yourown an if you know a bit of java you can make your own apps j2me

A great choice by a carrier that has more subscribers than the United States has population. :-). Around 600,000,000 users was the recent report.

Apple's system couldn't handle it. Fraught with problems handling what they've got.
The security probs they have with potential business accounts would preclude the Chinese from using them on that issue alone.
