Ebay seller says: "We are not sure what model this is..."

Auction details:
Phone will not power up, however the LCD (and probably many
other parts) are still good. Sold AS IS.
We are not sure what model this is, but it is not branded so it's probably unlocked.
Auction is for phone & battery cover only, no battery.

Shipping is $10 via US Priority Mail for the first auction, $7 for each additional.
$30 via EMS international for the first auction and $20 for each additional.
We accept Paypal (US Customers must use CONFIRMED ADDRESSES), Money Order, Cashier's Checks and Personal Checks (15 day hold).
Payment is due within 7 days of auction end.

It's the Blackberry WPP. (Witness Protection Program) It came out about a year ago.. witnessed a murder and went into hiding. Obviously since it won't power up, the mob got to it already.

It was in a gang that stole millions of Pearls from Blackberry. It was betrayed by a it's woman, the Curve. It was learned that the Curve was in cahoots with the WPP's Sidekick. The Curve was also known to be an associate of a the town drunk, a Motorola Lush Pink. The Curve, got rid of the Lush too, slashing him with a RAZR.

The WPP has a gambling problem and was in heavy debt because of Blackjack. WPP confessed it had grown up on the wrong side of the Trax. It had grown up with another well known phone brothers known as the Pantech Duo.

Looks like an upgraded curve or something. external memory, bigger keys, better speaker???? Just my opinion.

Yes true and there's no real evidence pointing to this being a 9xxx BlackBerry. Not even sure if it's even legit.

Anything is possible, but I would like to think that if it was the 9xxx series BB the seller would a least know that much!?!

Thats the image that is being used for the 9000 series. Personally I think the keys are ugly as hell but the device itself looks okay. Could be a non functioning protoype that their auctioning off.

That is the exact same picture from boygeniusreport website, it even has the same watermark (think thats engadgets watermark) this is quite clearly a scam and anyone foolish enough to go for it deserves to be scammed!!

That's ebay's watermark. The eBay seller is the source of this pic. Obviously he/she didn't say it's a 9000 series and has no clue it seems yet many news sites choose to hint that.

The seller has great feedback (high numbers and does a lot of business) and the auction is up to $255, with only a few hours left..lot of buyers looking at this item.

Anyone email the seller? I just sent them a "question", so we'll see if I get an answer.

I think it is really the 9000 series. I repeat IS the 9000 series. Possibly stolen prototype. It is being sold in Grand Prairie, Texas. Aprox 8 miles away from RIM's Dallas (Irving) Offices.

Can anyone verify that RIM is doing away with the trackball? I went to phonescoop.com to compare pics of 8800 series, and there the trackball looks flat like the one for the supposed 9xxx series. So do we have any confirmation that there will be no more trackball? I love the trackball. As long as it doesn't go touch screen, I'll be happy.

Its actually shorter than that depending on what part of Grand prarie...

Remember ATT has offices based in Dallas as well..... In las calinas

Does it look like the letter "B" is backwards at the top? I downloaded the JPEG and zoomed in.

Instead of BlackBerry, it looks like Black"backwards B"erry.

Hard to tell. If that's backwards, then this would be a fake. I am so confused....lol

it could very well be a dummy phone of a new series comming soon. id love to bid on it. but its sold as-is.. and the phone wont power up. and hes using words like propbably. and maybe. why would ya pay 300 or more for a plastic phone that wont work. its nice looking but im not trusting it at the moment
