Yes, but you'll have to rename or delete the file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\Vendor.xml for App Loader to allow its installation.
Also, if there are unique features in O2's firmware (like MyFavs for t-Mobile), they won't be available.

Re: Useful - Latest OS for ALL Models
Latest OS for the 8100 is 4.2.1.109, not .108. Here's the link to the post with info and links to .109 from Rogers: http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com...2_1_109_a.html
I'm successfully running .109 on my Pearl, runs fast and haven't seen any errors.

which 2 from the list are you asking about? Do you mean
8310 - 4.2.2.184
Singapore Telecom Mobile Pte Ltd
Telkomsel Indonesia
|
if so then either one since they are the same version
and yes you will need desktop software (this allows PC and BB to communicate) and handheld software (is the Operating System for the BB)

What's the latest OS for the Verizon BB Pearl? I just received one from Verizon today and it has 4.3.0.60 (119) with 3.1.0.32

The list is only the latest OS available for each model and the BlackBerry Hosted sites that carry them.
I do manually add t-Mobile and Verizon because I have to track them for my job, but that's why it's not listed. The Verizon 8130 OS is version 4.3.0.60 and can be downloaded from here:
http://vzw.smithmicro.com/blackberry...px?ct=personal
but you must have a Verizon phone number to download it.
As noted in the list, Sprint has a slighly later os - v4.3.0.71.

Re: Useful - Latest OS for ALL Models
I've recently traded a Verizon 8830 for a T-Mobile 8800, and wondered if there was a more recent release--with the My Faves feature (works without it, but still...) still intact?

t-Mobile's software download site is:
http://www.t-mobile.com/bbupgrade/
Last I checked their 8800 was v4.2.1.74.

I'm just wondering if updating it to one of the x.x.x.184 versions from Telekomsel Indonesia or Vodafone would improve anything.
I get an occasional error about the unit not being able to render a page properly when accessing the tzones (WAP Browser) site, and an occasional 523 error when doing a soft reset, which happens, apparently, after the phone searches for the cell tower signal, gets it, and something gives the APP Error 523 - RESET on a white background, then it self-resets.
I've had to take the battery out and reboot it that way once.
Is there a place where I can see incremental software changes to this firmware?
Thanks,
Stephen

With t-Mobile, I'd stay with their firmware rather than another vendor's, otherwise you'll use MyFaves (or whatever they call it!). Incremental upgrades are not documented.
The best you could do is to wipe the device with JL_Cmder and then reload the OS.

Re: Useful - Latest OS for ALL Models
I have a BB 8800 with 4.2.1.74 and was wondering:
there are themes I want but they are for 4.2.2. Can I upgrade to 4.2.2? I've been told that my carrier ATT doesn't support 4.2.2 so can I upgrade to another carrier's OS? If so, is there any difference?
Anyone?

The list is the latest OS for each device. While you can install the OS from another provider, the OS is device specific. Version 4.2.2 is not available for the 8800. The latest OS available for the 8800 is 4.2.1.108 as the list indicates.

Re: Useful - Latest OS for ALL Models
I upgraded my at&t curve to the latest singapore telecom version and it seems to reboot almost 30% faster. It also seems more responsive on applications. Has anybody else noticed this?

Re: Useful - Latest OS for ALL Models
Yes, I'm on .109 from Rogers and it's also much faster and more responsive than version .96 that Cingular/AT&T has on their site.

Re: Useful - Latest OS for ALL Models
I have just got a second hand 8700g - using it as phone and PDA so don't have a contract for mail.
1) Can't sync with Notes calendar (6.5) error message "Database specified does not exist or cannot be accessed". I have verified that the BB Desktop configuration is correct and also set the Notes location to "Island"
2) Can any one give me a link to the latest BB O/S upgrade as I can't download from my Phone company as I do not have a BB contract. I am on 4.1.0.266 - Platform 2.0.0.111.
Any help would be appreciated as I am moving off my Windows Mobile device

Fixed my Sync issues - loaded Desktop manager 4.2.sp2 instead of 4.3!
