RIM is launching BIS 2.4 on Saturday, September 15th. In BIS 2.4, new customers setting up BIS service can access their BIS account without setting up a username or password. When the user wants to adjust their BIS account from the device, they are auto-logged in.
If a customer ever needs to access their BIS account on a computer, they must create a username and password. Once a username and password is set up, the auto-login capability is disabled.
Key Info:
Existing customers all have BIS usernames and are unable to take advantage of the auto-login ability.
Filters, auto-signature, and auto-forward settings cannot be modified from the device, so users needing to set those up will have to set up a username to access the webpage from a computer, disabling the auto-login capability.
Changing equipment can be done from the handheld. Auto-login users will need to re-verify all of their integrated e-mail account passwords.

thanks for the heads up!
I think you should put this in a thread in the t-mobile section so everyone has a heads up about the service outage during upgrade.

But you may have to resend your service books to receive the benefit of the upgrade.

This morning I had to send my service books because I wasn't connecting to the net. I guess I needed to refresh everything. I see no difference from b4 in set up email though. I've been trying all new features will see when I get home.

I'm on FlexPay. That may be why I don't have to enter my username and password.

Details
This article profiles the main changes to the BlackBerry Internet Service 2.4.

Improved language support
The user interfaces will be translated into all of the BlackBerry Internet Service supported languages: English, French, German, Italian, Greek, Spanish, Chinese (traditional), Czech, Hungarian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portugese (European), Portugese (Brazilian), Russian, Turkish.
Enhanced BlackBerry Attachment Services- Support for MP3 or WAV encoded voicemail playback - up to 500KB file size

Save Sent items
A copy of email messages sent from the BlackBerry smartphone is placed in the source Sent Items folder. For example, if you send an email message from the BlackBerry smartphone using a third-party integrated account, a copy of the sent email message is placed in the Sent Items folder of the third-party account.
Wireless deletion
Email messages deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone can also be deleted from the mailbox of an integrated email account. When deleting an email message, the BlackBerry smartphone user will be prompted to select whether or not to delete the email message from the original mailbox as well.
Save Deleted items
A copy of email messages deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone is placed in the source Deleted Items ( or trash) folder. For example, if you delete an email message from the BlackBerry smartphone using a third-party integrated account, a copy of the deleted email message is placed in the Deleted Items folder of the third-party account. This feature is limited to source-types including IMAP, Microsoft Exchange, and IBM® Lotus® Domino® sources.

It appears to be up on TMO. Easy way to test is to go into your address book, select a contact, and hit menu. See if you get the option to send as an attachment. I believe that is new.

I'm not seeing any evidence of this here. Can anyone comment if their unread/read status is now propagating from server --> handheld?
