Ok so after waiting, I decided to hit the escape button and then it allowed me to log into each IM acct I set up

Just an FYI.
On the downloads, if you are running an 8700 with 4.2, don't download the one that says 4.2 Versions Pearl/Curve/8800.
You need to download the 4.1 version.
May want to relabel the website as:
Trackwheel devices and trackball devices, as there are probably quite a few 8700 users that are running a 4.2 OS.
You can load it and connect, but on the main screen you can't scroll left to right.

Well, disregard the above statement about installing the 4.1 version.
I can't get that one to upload onto the device.
Anyone else had any success?

Now it's okay.....
But it can only scroll to the right, but it does the scroll through at the end so not really an issue...

I'm using 4.2 on an 8700g through T-mobile and this is what I put for settings:
Connection type: TCP/IP
Use BB Transport: Default
Use TCP/IP port: 443
Use SSL is unchecked
All messengers are working, but I don't have a Jabber account so I couldn't check that one. Even the myspace one is working, ooooooo

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ I installed this flawlessly and I now have access to the MySpace Messenger I missed on my PC. I don't have a Jabber account either. Has anyone tested this to see if its better than Google Talk which has been in beta forever? Thanks.

1) Contact logs on
2) Contact logs off
3) New alert if someone not on your contact list wants to chat
4) New message
I'm asking because I can't find a way to do this and the ICQ tone is a little annoying at times when I will only be using this to chat on MySpace.

I have looked for an option of changing souns and haven't found it either.
I will ask our developers where they have hidden it.

And disregard the part of my first post about Google Talk. I wasn't fully awake when I wrote that. I will just log onto JiveTalk if the RIM client gives me too many fits.

just installed it and it works just fine, some smaller bugs like i can't change the volume...
but i wonder how much gprs traffic im+ generates... i can't find any hints on their website... any experiences?

Traffic depends on how many services you use simultaneously and how many messages you send.
Each message is about 0.5 kb. Every time you or your contact change status, it takes 0.5 kb.
When you run IM+ in background mode, it takes about 10 bytes a minute, 600 bytes an hour, 14К a day, which means not more that 432К a month (even if you run IM+ 24 hours a day everyday).

I have just checked these cyphers with IM+ project manager.
0.5 kb is a correct digit if you use HTTP connection.
If you use TCP/IP connection, each message will be about 0.1 kb.

You can send us your log selecting "Support" / "Send request".
Then we will recommend you how to setup connection settings manually.

I have asked IM+ project manager where sounds changing is hidden.
This functionality is still under development (styles and shortcuts also).
