New Streaming radio stations for MFRadio, RadioBee (ver1), MWebPlayer
so i have renewed my interest in the whole streaming radio thing.
I gave up on RadioBee's latest release. Use an earlier release if you like RadioBee
RadioBee (ver1.1)
http://www.getjar.com/products/6073/RadioBee
MFRadio
http://mfradio.sourceforge.net/ or OTA http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mfradio/MFRadio-0.9.1.jar or
wap.GetJar.com with your mobile. Select "Quick Download" and "...enter Quick Download Code" 11135
MWebPlayer (latest release) as of mid march
http://www.sitex.com.ua/en/products/...ayer/index.htm
and Dollar's 5 media player
http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com..._internet.html
(And from our forum at http://www.dollars5.com/munity/viewtopic.php?t=59 and from our blog at http://www.dollars5.com/pile/company...s-of-features/)
I like MFRadio's User Interface, but it lacks setting configuration
I just started using MWebPlayer and its working pretty good.
Plenty of settings to adjust (and check out the MIME stuff,
there are mentions of video capabilities i think)
MWebPlayer also has some connection to live365, although i'm
not familiar with this
Dollar's 5 I think has the best sound, but does cost money
Okay so i only have 2 new stations to Share but more will
follow after scouring shoutcast.com directory (max of 24bitrate)
First up National Public Radio (NPR) out of Detroit
(BBC after midnight)
http://141.217.119.35:8005
Next is a Classic Rock Station
http://64.71.150.28:9786
NOTES : with radiobee you do not use the http:// with the other two you do
radiobee does not allow you to add stations, you have to edit existing ones
MWebPlayer doesn't seem to save the stations i make
Easy work around for this.
open your notepad. make a note titled radio stations. add the urls there
copy and past from there to the app
I figured i would start a new thread since there are at least three apps
(that i know of) that stream internet radio
also note that some stations only allow a certain amount of
users so be patient
have fun
may the force be with you

Re: New Streaming radio stations for MFRadio, RadioBee (ver1), MWebPlayer
When you find stations that play for YOU, it's helpful if you list your location. Not all streams will work for everyone. So when you're finding these streams, if there is more than one listed, it helps if you also note those. Much like a regular radio, some streams don't broadcast in certain areas. This is pertinent only to ver1.1 of Radiobee. MFRadio also doesn't always save your stations. If it can't connect, it erases them. For people just seeing this thread, the correct thread for help with radiobee is listed under the 3rd party software folder. There are already 3 or 4 help threads, so look at those. Starting more help threads for Radiobee won't be necessary. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
This is the best thread for info on setting Radiobee.

This is the best thread for help, and posting working stations, for Radiobee.

Re: New Streaming radio stations for MFRadio, RadioBee (ver1), MWebPlayer
well thank you mysmyrrh,
to everyone else most radiostation work with the
other two programs. I was unaware that these depend on your location.
I would imagine thats not the case. I would guess that it depends on A-your
signal strength (network connection) and B- how many listeners there are at
given time since streaming internet radio stations can only handle so many users.
Smaller stations allow less users.
This thread is for help with all THREE apps.
Personally, i don't really use RadioBee (v1.1) i prefer MFRadio and MWebPlayer.
With Both of those, there is no need to set all the different settings for success.
MWebplayer does allow you to adjust buffer size and whether your phone is
unlocked.
For any new users. Basically if you have a data plan, just copy the URL (htt://xx.xxx.xx.xxx:etc)
and paste in to the programs whether editing existing stations (radiobee) or
creating new ones (mfradio and MwebPlayer)
I apologise i will be pulling a 12 hour shift until 2:30 AM today so feel free to post questions and i will respond here and there until after i get off work
and by the way I'm Using the Pearl with the Italian OS with TMO

Re: New Streaming radio stations for MFRadio, RadioBee (ver1), MWebPlayer
Hmm I'm not sure on that one. My suggestion is to download say MFRadio and give it a whirl. I guess it would determine whether your bes admin has a firewall setup to block 3rd party apps and their network connections.

Re: New Streaming radio stations for MFRadio, RadioBee (ver1), MWebPlayer
Hello,
I am mWebPlayer Author. Glad to know that somebody is interesing in my program :-)
I want to clarify this issue with saving added stream stations. Demo version does not allow to save your cahnges in playlust after exiting the app. If you want to do this you should buy full version.
And one more.
There is Feedback Book on my site. If you have any notes, comments, suggestions please leave there your message.
Thanks.
Sergey

Thanks for the info sergey, so the price is $13 I believe. I would like more info about the live365 streams. I think you have a great program, just needs a few tweaks.
Great site Serg
Very informative

Re: New Streaming radio stations for MFRadio, RadioBee (ver1), MWebPlayer
Okay after some more testing....
MWebPlayer takes the cake for best "sound quality" app
I'm running unlocked mode, safe mode, with a buffer size of 40.
Except for the occasional hiccup which is normal for streaming radio
to a phone, it really sounds much sharper, not fuzzy or garbled
like the other 2 apps

Re: New Streaming radio stations for MFRadio, RadioBee (ver1), MWebPlayer
with mwebplayer, press the option button to the left of trackball
it then allows you to volume up and down
(if only the volume keys on the BB worked for this app......)

From what I understand, I think you need MP3 capabilities on the BB for it to work

when trying to select a different buffer option in the MWebPlayer options menu i cant get the cursor to select the right circle. It will only scroll to the 5 and then skips past the rest of the options...is there a special way to select these...im using the pearl

Yes there is a special way to select the buffer size! Directly below the circles with the buffer size numbers is the word "custom". Just type the number you want, and it will be highlighted in the coresponding circle above.
