I believe it is a little smaller, Seems to be about 5 meg more memory from the reports I'm getting. I can't really verify as I made some additional memory saving changes when I installed it.

For OS 4.2.0.69 and 4.2.0.71, I only load 198 of the 400+ .cod files in the OS (basically, I delete all of the language files for non English languages, BBmaps, BBmessenger, ptt, Brickbreaker, themes I don't use, preloaded video and pics, help, and a few others). When I compared these 198 files between OS 4.2.0.69 and 4.2.0.71, each file was exactly the same size as the corresponding file in the other OS.

OK now this is annoying the crap out of me... After installing the update, the hourglass keeps popping up. Doesn't matter if I am on the homescreen or not. I did a battery pull and it is still happening... hmmm any ideas or suggestions?

^^hey, when u finish update....can u tell me if the pearl loads up faster..the apps....music etc....and what are the difference between the older os and the new?

Don't know Stacey, I haven't had any problems with this update yet. Doesn't seem slow.

Well after a firmware update it takes a while for the BB to start back up. Just be patient Stacey. I noticed when I updated from whatever version it was before to .69 it took my Pearl about 10 minutes to completely start up.

I did a battery pull and then it was fine, so if anyone experiences the hourglass keep poppin up after the upgrade, give that a shot and you should be ok. I must say that I haven't noticed any difference in anything.

It DOES load faster than .69 - not sure why. Transitions are smoother too. Perhaps this is just an illusion, since they dont release any notes, but I like the responsiveness of this version better than the .69
