Re: Must Have Software List

Khyle, welcome to Pinstack. Most if not all of these applications are Java based. If the Siemens will run Java applications you should be okay. There will be a few that are BB specific due to the nature of the carrier and communication connection.

I'll dig into this a little further and see what I come up with.

Has anyone here purchased Dynoplex's software (from Handango)? They have a seven-day free trial for most of their office-type applications. I've heard it is worth trying but haven't yet tried myself.

I tried the download trial but gave up on it. It was slow. I guess BBspell is all I need.

Re: Must Have Software List

I tried the trial version and my BB started locking up 2 or 3 days into the trial. Liked what I saw, but didn't have enough time to really ring it out. Tried again about 2 weeks later and ended up with the same results. That time I got a memory error, so I uninstalled / deleted the software.

Just my experience.

I use the Eoffice fromk Dynoplex. Work very good for me. I mainly use it for excell spreadsheets. It is the only ap that I know of that you can actually work on the spreadsheet when on the road and then send it back to your main computer via desktop manager when you get back to the office.

Question Re: Must Have Software List (notifire)

I got question about Notifire?

I downloaded the app and it seems okay. My question is about the categories; You can assign each contact a category. such as Always, Home, Work, Meeting or any user defined category. You can then set notifire to be in one of these profile modes. What I do not understand is how do you enable contacts to have multiple categories? Example, Wife= always. Co-worker= work, meetings. Friend= work, home.

It seems it's either one or the other.:ahh:

Jiveslide is only a viewer it can't upload photos. This is what you have to do:

You have to open a Yahoo or Flickr account and upload the photos that way.

1) In Jiveslide, select "New Collection"
2) Change Type to Yahoo or Flickr (This is where your photos will be)
3) Enter your username

It'll automatically download your public photos when you browse from Jiveslide

Is there a free program for working with excel spreadsheets? Also, in your opinions, which icons would you remove from the Home screen? There are too many icons and I can't see my desktop image as well as I would like. Thanks.

Re: Must Have Software List

I don't know of a free excel. As for your icons you might pick up a theme with the icons that are semi invisible and change the background picture to what you want. Makes it easy to show off your fav pic,.. my daughter for me. As far as what Icons to hide, its really a personal preference of what you use the most. My current theme I leave some icons I don't use because I like the pic they have. I hide the different email accounts I have attached and the enterprise and internet mail set up, I don't need them all the time. I also hide the help and blue tooth if I am not using it. I am sure there are more that I hide, but I can not think of it at the moment.
