Giving bonuses out to "keep creative people" in a company that is failing, obviously needs to do some restructuring and shouldn't reward those people that failed to do their job. Other companies gave up bonus payout because they got called out for poor business handling, so this excuse that contractually they had to, is bs.

What would have been better in an idealistic world would have been to distribute "bailout" money to taxpayers in this country. We would not delay in stimualting this economy with that kind of help.

That's so true, bail out the ones losing their homes and jobs not the ones taking the homes and jobs away. I would have liked to see a check from the government for a few hundred or a few thousand. I know most of us need it

Do you think the execs will give back at least half the money they got. I don't see that happening those type of people are very money hungry

Of course they deserved the bonus they got. Just look at how well the company is being run. Even when they fail they just get the goverment to pay up. Pure Genius if u ask me. Wish all companies where run this well.

Well, when one of the senators and the Treasury Department are part of the problem and allowed this to happen, why not give out the money?

A few of them will give all or a portion of the money back, but several of them no longer even work there-good luck getting that money back.

bonuses to excecs of struggling companies is not acceptable, especially when the money for the bonuses comes from the tax payers. i am a manager of a multi-line new car dealer and when the economy went to s---t we chopped from close to 600 empoyees down to 350, examined everything dollar spent and cut right to the bone. and the months that the group went red the president had to come out of pocket to pay the bills. we didnt ask or cry for outside funding, we sucked it up and got it handled. year to date we are about even maybe alittle red depending on how this month pans out. bottom line: bail outs fail in every example..and bonuses to excecs of failing companies is just plain wrong

Busted again! Now it sounds like they've uncovered another 53 million dollars in more bonuses that were handed out. Jeez when does it end?

It kind of makes you wonder why the government didn't first ask for a budget form these companies befor giving them the money.
