The Irish have side stepped the UK, by joining the EU and accepting the Euro currency.

They no longer have to rely on the UK ecomony so heavily, actually they are doing quite well. But prices have gone up... especially cars, so much for the a single market that the Europeans promised.

One thing new and they are not used to... is people from the mainland (Eastern Europeans mainly) travelling to live and work there

Yay! Looks like the "Mainland-ers" learned how great Ireland is!

Do we expect to see any De Lorean's again??

    ...That would be hot!

Actually, I just saw an article somewhere lately that a limited production DeLorean was being made somewhere. Cool looking car, but with a 0-60 time of over 11 secs, it gets passed by school busses.

Actually, you'd need it to get to 88 mph! (and 1.21 gigawatts of power, and some plutonium!)

There was a famous comment made

" Great Britain and the USA are two countries seperated by a common language"

I cant remember who said it. I think he may have been drunk at the time!!

Us Scots have had to learn to accept defeat gracefully when it comes to football and rugby, I was more thinking of re builing hadrians wall and adding some razor wire lol.
