Bad bad bad ... lol
Great for everything!
Great place to relax; coffee is not very good.
Bad place to relax, but the coffee is good.
Bad for everything.
Good or bad? You decide.

I dont drink coffee either, so I have never even been in a starbucks.
I don't go for anything fancy. I have my coffee black. I like their coffee. I'm not a huge fan but their coffee is consistent and I always get good service.

In the fall of 1992 I left CT for University of Washington. 3 days into the semester I went to Westlake mall in Seattle and had my very first Cafe Mocha.
While it was delicious(I later refined my palatte)it was also $3.75 ... in '92! wtf?!?!?
My hatred for Starbucks began at that moment and hasn't diminished one bit.
Therefore, my stance is that Starbucks sucks. Not only is it grossly overpriced but you can get far better coffee at almost any bodega worldwide.
Hey, if you are in the U district you have lots of choices besides Starbuckzz .
Moreover, just about any drive-up hole-in-the-wall espresso joint in Seattle will fill your cup till it runneth over with Italian goodness -level coffee.
Only reason for Starbucks: in some places in Europe it has free WiFi. But I have yet to see this happen stateside.
Good sometimes, mostly bad.. Theres a starbucks in every corner! You spend 3 bucks for something you can make on your own.
good every once in a while
Out of the 7 Starbucks within walking distance from me, none has free WiFi
Seems to be corporate policy: if there are OTHER cafe's in the area offering free wireless, $tarbuck$ will, too. All the more reason to dislike them, really -- at the prices they charge they could be offering free wireless access across the board.
Penny-pinching oligopolists! I only go there if there is no alternative.
as some of you might say........i think I live there! go ahead Stace! say it! say it!
Starbucks coffee is among the worst out there. Its not roasted, its burned.
I agree with what gkast said. If there is a smaller outfit nearby offering free WiFi, then they will too. Otherwise, you'll pay for it.
The one positive about Starbucks I can think of is their commitment to the "Fair Trade" growing practices. As a huge conglomerate, having at least a small corporate focus on environmental responsibility can't be too bad of a thing.
I'll take my coffee from my local family owned bakery. They serve a brand called Panache that is excellent.
My favorite is Tim Hortons though. Too bad I'm so far south. Boo!

starbucks beans are pretty bad when they make it, i'm not sure what they do to their coffee but it tastes like it was filtered through a gym sock. i actually use their beans at home when i'm in a pinch and they really do have some good ones, just not the ones that they serve to the public. the sumatra and the kimono blends are pretty good.
they do have good espresso though, that i will give them. i like my lattes and they are a good choice for that.
i would much rather get my coffee from a local shop but starbucks put them all out of business. i went from having three or four very good local coffee shops to none with three starbucks in about two years. it's horrible. there's a great coffee place about 15 minutes from me that i prefer to go to (the BEST mocha's ever there) but it's not terribly convenient usually.
