    Some bad luck..

so my got in her first ever accident today in her 06 325i.

Ball Rd taking a left onto Disneyland Dr to get back onto the 5 freeway north.

She had to get over so she had her blinker on and her arm out (at a red light).. a guy in a green honda mini-van stopped to let her in, she waved to him.. and as she was about 90% into her lane, the guy just collided into her.

The officers think it was odd since there was NO tire marks of him trying to stop, the point of impact shows that she was in the lane when he hit her.

So what do you guys think? our pal is a lieutenant up in Glendale and he said by the way the guy acted (jumped out of the car, started screaming as to how it was my wife's fault until the officer told him to get back into his vehicle) makes him think he did it on purpose, doesn't have insurance, etc..

my wife didn't receive a ticket of any kind either, and the police were more then polite to her as well. We think with him testifying (the officer on scene) we should be ok. I have a feeling the guy doesn't have any insurance (from Arizona, and has some **** *** insurance "carrier"). I by NO means am stereotyping, but it was a Hispanic gentleman with about 9 people in the van with him as well.. and he was going crazy.

here's some pictures for your viewing pleasure. The best part about it, was I was VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY close to having her take my car due to the fact that I was taking her car in today for it's first service.. but things got re-scheduled.

    Yeah shes totally fine..

The best part is that the guy just wanted to exchange insurance and once my wife said she was calling the police he flipped out. Insurance scam anyone?

It gets better. they were at a RED light (so how could she have "cut him off"?) and he LEFT a gap for her to come in, she waved to him adn he waved back.. then as she was coming over, he accelerated and hit her.

There is some damage to the back left.. just can't see it in the pictures. he just kept accelerating as well causing him to push my wife sideways a bit as well. she was 95% in the lane, and the officers took note of that.

I'm going to have my step dad's lawyers (he's a big wig in vegas, one of the top 3 hotel/casino contractors next to Wynn) take a hold of this guy.

    It is very strange.

With have a dozen of guys in the car there is good chance they weren't paying attention. I would also grab the insurance money and leave it alone, things could have turned out worse. Your wife didn't get hurt and beamer will be fine. By the way noone else stayed around at the scene to tell the story?

From the pics you can clearly see that the beamer was bumped from the side, the tail light has not a scratch. The kind of damage in the pics would be hard to replicate if she was fully in her lane. To me it seems the van just didn't want her switching into his lane.

Let us know how it goes

What a scumbag! Im sure she'll be fine from the sound of it. I had an accident similiar like that. The lady had a paper plate, no insurance and no drivers lic. She ended up getting a ticket when I called the cops, my insurance obviously didn't pay her anything, my insurance had to cover mine though.

    Good luck

I feel your pain man.. I got into a little fender bender this morning myself... Luckily, no damage to either car (I have a Saturn Vue, thank you for the plastic car!!).... A few of the plastic cosmetic pieces popped off, but I already snapped 'em back into place...

Glad to hear your wife wasn't hurt!

Good luck. Car insurance is the biggest scam there is. You have to have it - it's the law and you have to pay and pay and pay, but when it is time to use it the insurance companies never want to pay out.

she just gave her recorded interview, the insurance guy told her he was ISSUED a ticket (not sure what for, probably failure to yield).. looks like it's his fault in my book.
