Hey, if I was president, then you'd all be on my cabinet. Not such a bad thing.

Most drugs would be legalized, gambling would be legal, and a host of other "personal choice" issues.

    Re: Presidential Race Opinions

    My speech...(its a first draft)

    My fellow americans...

I come to you tonight as a citizen of this country, raised not in a house of privilege, but houses of the American Dream and American Reality. My parents divorced when I was 6. As an adult I also went through the personal pain and anguish of a failed marriage. I have seen the pain from both sides. As such I promise that as President, I won't waste tax dollars on stupid programs that promote "family". Instead I'll ask every person in this country to take stock of their own personal lives. Seek out someone of faith or a therapist to help you if you need it.

I promise to overhaul our god awful education system. We live in a time when children are taught to pass an exam so that their school can receive federal funding next year. The system has forgotten that our primary concern is educating the future, not securing federal funding. We live in a time when children are required to take Algebra and Calculus in High School, mathematics that while important, serve no useful purpose for 95% of the school population. Yet they are not required to take any kind of economics, instead they get a 2 or 3 week "class" on balancing a checkbook. The blind lead the unlearned down the road to economic ignorance, to the detriment of our entire society. As President, I will require that our schools get back to teaching children the things they will need to be a useful and productive member of an increasingly technology driven society.

We live in an era when vices are a fact of life. Gambling, pornography, alcohol, and drugs have and always will be a part of our society. While we certainly need to continue to educate our society about the evils of these vices, we must also stop the black market we have created in drug trafficking, offshore gambling, and other illegal activities that increase the crime in our society. I propose legalizing and bringing under government control and regulation these ills. Not only will this eliminate the criminal activity, (see: repeal of prohibition, 1933) the tax revenue generated from these activities can be put to use educating our children, improving our society, and helping those who cannot overcome their addictions to these evils, rather than lining the pockets of gangsters and criminals.

To our Congress, I will propose a Constitutional Amendment that will force them to be subject to the same laws that all other citizens are subject to. The days of 100% lifetime pensions, automatic annual pay increases, and power and prestige well in excess of your contribution to society are over. There is no faster way to fix Social Security than make the people in charge of running it also subject to its benefits. There is no faster way to overhaul our tax code than to make our legislators subject to its rules as well. There is no better way to hold our leaders accountable than making them just like the rest of us, rather than allowing them to remain elevated above us all.

In closing, I submit that I am a man of humble origins, not without fears or faults. I hold these truths to be self evident, and resolve to lead our country to the best of my abilities.

    Honorably,

    The Fu
