As another stacker mentioned we have a young team that needs to learn what the post-season is all about.

I read an article on the net where they quoted Crosby saying something about how he felt the team stood around and watched to get a feel and while they stood and watched Ottawa took advantage. You can't play dump and chase and expect to win hockey games. You gotta control the puck and convert every opportunity into shots on goal. If they can figure this out no one can stop them!!
I agree they're young, and maybe they underestimated Ottawa a bit since they've beaten them 3 outta 5 games already; but they need to kick it up a bit; it seemed like they were just skating around not knowing what to do.

I agree. Hopefully the 2 days off have given them some time to think through what happened on Wednesday. Maybe they will have figured out what went wrong the other night and course-correct. We are a better team than what we showed last Wednesday.

    GO PENS!!

they cant find a goalie. they should have spent the money on the bulin wall.

brodeur is capable of playing way better. the whole team is capable of playing way better. the devils better be ready because tampa is gonna come out even harder next game. i have faith that we'll win the series but it won't be easy.

Lots of great games over the first couple days. My Sabres started out slow but then Chris Druuuuuury kicked it into gear.

    GO SABRES!!

much better game by the stars. if we have a 2 or 3 goal lead, we can lock anybody down.

4-3 baby! Now that is what I like to see. Pens played with purpose this game and it paid off, even if it was an ugly win. A win is still a win. Best of 5 series now

Way to go PENS!!! Lord Stanley here we come!

Some good series shaping up. The Islanders took it to my Sabres tonight, Pittsburg won. There's something about the NHL playoffs, this time of year, and cold beer. Labatts Blue to be exact!

    Re: NHL Playoffs

This extra day's layoff stinks - whoever made the NHL playoff schedule should be shot. Why isn't it just every other day?

Anyway - glad to see the Isles and Devils behind in thier series.. At least I had something to root for last night. I'll admit, the Islanders are making it more of a series than I thought - i really was expecting them to get blown out of every game. Either the Islanders got something going on or Buffalo needs to wake up!

Rangers can go for a huge lead tonight - they have a tendency to showboat and try and put on a show for hte home fans in MSG, hopefully they don't do that tonight and just stick to the game they've been playing. Holik can check all he wants as long as the Rangers don't let it get to them (which they haven't been!).

    Re: NHL Playoffs

I know nothings over yet, but my picks are looking pretty good:

    My first round picks:
    Rangers over Atlanta (up 3-0)
Tampa Bay over the "We can't win without Brodeur"'s (up 2-1)
Buffalo over the Icelanders (up 2-1)
Ottawa/Crosby and Co.. can't pick it.. I think Ottawa in 7 (Ottawa up 3-1)

Detroit over Calgary in (up 2-0)
    Anaheim over Minnesota (up 3-0)
    Vancouver over Dallas (up 2-1)
San Jose over Nashville (up 2-1)

I really haven't been following the west very closely, other than to check final scores...
