My Birthday's Coming Soon...Which PSP Package Should I Get?

I have decided I want to FINALLY go ahead and ask for a Sony PlayStation Portable for my birthday but need help from other owners who have the different packages as to which one is the best value.

    1) Entertainment Pack, which comes with:

    The PSP
    AC Adaptor
    Battery Pack
ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin Trails UMD Game
    Lords Of Dogtown UMD Game
1 GB Memory Stick PRO Duo

If I get this bundle the games are going to a friend of mine who already has a PSP but I'm not sure if he has these games.

    2) Core Pack, which comes with:

    The PSP
    AC Adaptor
    Battery Pack

If I get this one I will (obviously) be spending more on accessories than the package itself.

    3) Value Pack, which comes with:

    The PSP
    Headphones w/Remote Control
    Pouch and Wrist Strap
    AC Adaptor
    Battery Pack
    Cleaning Cloth
32 MB Memory Stick PRO Duo

If I get this one, I will be upgrading the memory stick at the first possible chance LOL

I am also going to throw in the following accessories and games:
    Extra PSP 1GB Memory Stick
    Extended Life Battery
    Sims 2
    Sims 2 Pets

Here's my dilemma. Can I get the following all in one system:

    1) The memory stick featured in Pack 1?
    2) Omit Pack 1's games?
    3) Get the headphones (w/ remote control), pouch, wrist strap, and cleaning cloth in Pack 3?

    Cost differences for these?

But #1 and Beg/Borrow/Cheat/Steal for the games you want with the game you don't.

Not sure of the differences cause they weren't listed on the site. LOL @ buy #1 and beg/borrow/cheat/steal for the games I want with the games I get with PSP.

EDIT: I take that back about not knowing the price. Sony.com has one of them listed for $169.99.

Personally I would go with the PSP and then grab a Logitech case with it. Then go on eBay and look at the memory sticks there, I think I picked up a 1 GB pro duo at a fraction of what I could get in the store.

So go with the Core package and just buy all the accessories separately? I really didn't wanna do that because it will be a gift from my parents and they don't like going all over town trying to find everything.

I want a PSP. A buddy of mine has one and he got this adapter that fits the width of the bottom that plays the audio to a radio via FM signals. He drives around with the PSP on a small shelf he rigged in his truck in his dashboard. He doesnt listen to CDs anymore in his car, he just plays music videos.

God of War is coming soon as a stand alone game...

Both of my children (teen boys 15 ab 16 have them). One uses his only for gaming because he has a 30g mp3 player, and the other one uses it every way that you can use it...gaming, music, videos, storage, etc. They go to Gamestop to get their games, and use Max Media Manager Pro for Sony PSP to format videos. I found their accessories at Best Buy on sale some time ago...you can most likely find deals just browsing the internet. Remember, other relatives, friends could help out with your birhtday present so your parents won't have to foot the entire bill. You could ask them for a specific item, or have them purchase a gift card so you can get whatever you desire.

Erica, go for number one than. There is software available that will take a dvd and convert it to be able to be put onto a memory stick so you can watch a full length movie, you'll need at least 512MB for this. Also look at the logitech case, its a hard case that will give a bit more protection than the soft pouch. You can also trade the games in at a few locations to get something more desirable for you.

Re: My Birthday's Coming Soon...Which PSP Package Should I Get?

Thanks for the help, everyone . I've decided to go with the Value Pack, which comes with:

    The PSP
    Headphones w/Remote Control
    Pouch and Wrist Strap
    AC Adaptor
    Battery Pack
    Cleaning Cloth
32 MB Memory Stick PRO Duo

I will be adding the following accessories:
    Extra PSP 1GB Memory Stick
    Extended Life Battery

    Games:
    Sims 2
    Sims 2 Pets

I will not be watching movies on it so I don't need the converter software. I might check out that extra case also.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ How about the pack that includes a charcoal grill, a fishing rod, a baseball glove, frisbees, and sunscreen? It's the newest concept in entertainment, some call it AR (actual reality).

Re: My Birthday's Coming Soon...Which PSP Package Should I Get?

LOL Yellowfin. However I think I have run into a problem (It's a good thing I started searching 4 months in advance LOL).

I just saw this on http://www.pspfanboy.com/2007/03/23/...or-value-pack/
    [Via Gamespot]
[Update 1: Dave Karraker has e-mailed us stating "The PSP Value Pack isn't something we sell to retailers any longer. It is a discontinued model. So, the retailer can price it at any level they wish. It is not a universal price drop, just something GameStop decided to do."]

Now I may have to get the Core Pack and ask for gift cards for the following accessories/games:

    Extended Life Battery
    Headphones w/Remote Control
    Pouch and Wrist Strap
    Cleaning Cloth
1 GB Memory Stick PRO Duo
    Sims 2
    Sims 2 Pets
