I'm trying to create a website for a family member, do you know of any good affordable and reputable host sights or whatever they called ?

currently I'm looking at web.com and webs.com are these good ?

there must be no adds on the website and be easy to contact the company (hosting sight), ( they must reply quickly)

    thanks in advance.

also can you please give me hints and tips for creating a website.

Even though it's US based, I use HostGator and have read that their service in the UK is really good. They do web hosting fairly cheaply. I'm an affiliate. Not sure you can use it in the UK, but use coupon code PINSTACKERS for 25% off your service of choice. You can purchase a domain and do your web hosting all right there. As for building a website, there are tools you can use there as well.

    Just use this link: http://secure.hostgator.com/~affilia...i?id=rwgrosser

The domain is what you enter when you want to go to a website, like www.pinstack.com.

I'm assuming your family member needs or wants a domain name? Well you have to purchase one, like www.ktw.uk or whatever.

Then you have to build your website. Sounds like you might be in a little over your head, though.

a little over my head...i agree but rather fail trying then not trying at all, besides... if I succeed then I save the family member R4000 (about $482) so its worth a try.

but what was a ssl certificate ?

Don't worry about that right now. You really only need that if you're conducting business from the site where people would enter credit cards and such.

So if you sign up for hosting on HostGator, and buy yourself a domain name, there are tools you can use to start building a site. They make it pretty easy for you.

PinStack is a vBulletin site as well. What type of website are you looking to create, anyway?

Google Sites is a good option - no ads, simple to design. If you have a Google membership find Google Sites and go from there. It's free, provides some design tools and templates, and is very convenient.

The suite I have doesn't cost anything per month, it is a lifetime license. The cost would be in your host or server, the cost of the domain name. I need around $100 for the license to get out from under this years costs
