You would pull a guy if he was making a pass in a legal passing zone? I always wondered about that.

Considering that would have put me way over the speed limit and running towards him with him having the radar up in the windshield, yeah, I decided not to pass. Small towns write big speeding tickets. City limits run about 3-4 miles in any direction but we have like 15 cops. Somebody's always running radar somewhere.

Yeah, but I always wondered about that. If I am passing somebody, I am almost certainly going to have to exceed the posted limit, unless the other person is doing 20 below the limit. I don't want to leave my junk hanging out in the other lane, so I make the pass as quickly as the road and my car allows. Which usually means backing it down when I get in the other lane.

I've just wondered if most cops take that into consideration, or if they just see the number on the gun and hit the lights.

It prolly depends on if the cop thinks you are driving recklessly.

I'm only up on two wheels for 1-2 seconds, tops.

That's what I was wondering too.

My commute is 5 minutes. 3 if I don't get caught by the light but my husband commutes 1.5 hours one way.

That is the one thing I do not miss. (From Montclair)

My current commute is about 26 miles each way. It is the easiest drive on earth. Most of my drive is on 384E in CT and if I encounter more than 100 other vehicles on the way to work, that's a lot. Yesterday I worked rather late and while driving home I looked in my rearview mirror more than a couple of times and it was completely black. (Or that could just mean I drive so slow that everything had passed me - before anyone else thinks it )
