These remind me of the insects collected in glass boxes, and they always gave me the creeps. Ew !

I heard it tastes like french fries. Probably because of all the oil after it's fried.

Take in consideration that countries that has insects, bugs, or rodents as sustenaince has done so as a means for survival where such staples as chicken, beef, or pork for example are not easy to come by. You may think its strange but for them they may view you as strange for your unwillingness to give it the benefit of the doubt. Personally I find it rather annoying when someone comes up to me and starts telling me how they hate certain food from my ethnic culture without having once tried it before. How can you pass judgement on something where these people do not know firsthand what the taste or history, or understanding of why certain cultures eat certain food.

I think they eat it because:
    1. They are used to eating it....
    2. They like it (possibly because of #1)
    3. It probably tastes like chicken....

That's great stuff! I'm a huge fan of trying new types of food. I have tried worms (guzanos), crickets, ant larve and armadillo. The world is your oyster however, I have eaten some grub that would make a billy-goat puke.

I've watched the guy on TV travel around the world eating exotic fares and some of them I couldn't feed to my dog.....when I was very young.....maybe 7 or 8 years old.....I would readily devour the jellied pig's feet my Mom maid with a slice of white Wonder Bread but I can hardly look at that dish now....
