Flop? Are you joking? It is a cult classic!!!

It was meant as a spy spoof anyway. It was also a...I want to say "film noir", but I think that's wrong....it was some type of film where several directors are each given portions of the script which they then direct independently of each other.

And it wasn't just David Niven! Peter Sellers, Orson Wells, Woody Allen, et al.

Plus, the film was scored by Burt Bacharach. FANTASTIC!!

It also featured the hit song, "The Look of Love", written by Bacharach, performed by Dusty Springfield.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~I definately have reached the conclusion that a Pearl is as got as the lady carrying it. If I are someone unattractive with one, I will be unable to look at it again until another hottie has it, and they must be at least 30 and well developed...no spoiled daddy's girls to make it a nuveau riche toy.

An excellent film and one without too many gadgets. At least the Aston Martin is back, far better than those BMW's. As for the original with David Niven, that was and is a classic film as Lewis quite rightly points out.
Most noir stories feature main characters who find themselves embroiled in hopeless situations, fighting against a force that threatens to overtake them, the force being their inablility to resist temptation. Most often this main character is male, although there are some noir movies in which the main character is female. These tend to be detective type films

still not comfortable with him being Bond (its an ears thing) but without doubt - you look at him and think "**** - this guy can seriously hurt you"

    and he can act.

    best Bond movie so far.

I saw it last night. Great movie. The first chase scene was stupid if you asked me. Very few gadgets, just some cool cells. Bond is carrying a Nokia if my eyes served me correct. A bunch of Sony-Ericson crap. He has a Sony laptop and a few sony cells. Actually, no gadgets to be honest, with the exception of an AED, which really isnt a gadget considering they are everywhere. The car was BEAUTIFUL, too bad it was only in there for like 30 min before it was wrecked. Anyone catch the ingredients of the vesper drink?

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~ if only there were a decent bar in town where I could go and expect them to be able to make them and see people drinking them.
