I have a 7130e (Verizon) on my firm's BES. However I've recently been receiving emails in my PERSONAL Yahoo (not Yahoo Plus) account with the subject "RIM_bca28a80-e9c0-11d1-87fe-00600811c6a2". Here are the email headers:

    Code:

What is happening here? I know that the BES server sends out this sort of message to your Exchange account when it's trying to mate your BB to your Exchange account, but this is my Yahoo account and I've never tried to set it up on my BB.

I've talked to our system administrator and he doesn't believe it's coming from our BES server. But also doesn't have any suggestions.

Any ideas? Is this just some sort of spam? I get 30-40 of these delivered to my Yahoo inbox every day. I've been forced to setup a filter to direct them to my trash can.

    Thanks for your help.

    ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

They're called flycatcher messages, and yes, they're a symptom of attempting to communicate between email server and the BB.

They're created not only by a BES, but also by the Desktop Redirector and the Mail Connector apps. Perhaps you've configured one of those to forward?

Did you install Desktop Manager with Redirector? If you have set you device to collect POP email directly uninstall desktop manager and then re-install without the redirector.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~Gary, maybe that's it. I have my gmail account setup on here. I'd never heard about not selecting redirect. I still don't understand how that could affect my yahoo account.
