Question URGENT! Issues with SOME blackberry users

Yesterday we had some disk issues on our Exchange 2003 server... we had to run a repair on 4 out of 8 info stores in order to get them back up and running... since this, some of our BB's are not receiving/sending mail... in the BB Manager, going to the properties for a problem user we receive the message: Unable to access the mailbox for this user.

Tried to remove one of the users and add back in, received the following message when attempting to recreate the BB account:
Failed to add user Joe User to the BlackBerry Server. Unable to open mailbox for this user. The user's mailbox may have been deleted.

The users all exist. I have run the handheldcleanup utility, restarted the services, restarted the server to no avail....

The iemstest utility runs successfully against these mailboxes. All of the correct permissions are in place.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

Re: URGENT! Issues with SOME blackberry users

check out RIM's KB article KB04189

Here's the gist of it from their site

For Microsoft Exchange 2000 or Exchange 2003
    1. Make sure that Exchange System Manager 2000 or 2003 has been installed and that all required service packs have been applied to match the version of the most recent Exchange Server.
    2. Make sure that Microsoft Outlook is not installed on the same computer as the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
    3. Make sure that the BlackBerry device user’s mailbox has not exceeded the storage limit.
    4. In Exchange System Manager, at the Administrative Group level, enable the Exchange View Only Administrator permission for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account.

At the Server and Mailbox Store levels, enable the following permissions for the service account:

      • Send As
      • Receive As
      • Administer Information Store.

Thanks for the response.... I have gone through all of these steps.... all looks good on that end of things... some of the user's that are fine have mailboxes that reside on the same info store in Exchange as users that are not working at all.... =/

Thanks for the input, you will note above that I have run the handheldcleanup utility...

after speaking with RIM we determined that the affected mailboxes still contained corrupt data that was unrepairable.... these mailboxes had to be recreated.

Not to highjack the thread, would any mailserver work with BB including linux flavor versions?
