Question Travelling Users Lose Email Connectivity Returning Home

A BES Admin in one of my Tech Support Classes described this problem, and I need some help:

When some of their 400 BlackBerry Users travel across the US and then return home, they sometimes lose the ability to send/receive email.
They're running BES 4.0 and a mix of Verizon 7750, 7250, Nextel 7510/20, Cingular 7290 devices - doesn't seem to be a pattern across devices.

They try the soft reset (ALT-CAP-DEL), but that does not fix the problem.
They had also tried deleting service books, but that is not a reliable fix.

RIM's advice to them was to go to Options > Security > Wipe Handheld. This seems pretty onerous.

I don't think any of the users have access to their web client/BlackBerry Internet Service (but maybe they could do that if needed)

I suggested going into Options > Host Routing Table > Register Now, but I'm not certain that's the correct action.

Anybody experience similar issues or have any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Martin

Yes the hosting routing table is one option.

Also, have them do a manual network search first when having network problems. Read more here

    Hayden,

Thanks for the info. I'll ask the BES Admin to try it out!

Try scan for new networks in option network switch auto to manual and the button appears click scan for network and click the wheel. you should get a network list and attach to your HOME network
