    Security Policy

Hi, new to the forums and have a quick question.

We had someone's personal Pearl start Ent Activation which has sent down a Policy stopping use of the camera. Activation was stopped but wondering if there's a way of removing the Policy without wiping and setting up against a BES?

    TIA

    Re: Security Policy

You can create a blank policy and the assign the device to it and then resend the policy.

    Re: Security Policy

To "gernett's" comment... It is always good to have a "generic Default policy" that is also available to send from the BES server that is second to a more secure corporate policy. This will help you if you are dealing with people's personal Blackberries on your BES server. Having a default simple policy will allow you to test tweaks and changes to your secure policy and be able to go back to a default open mode if you run into problems. You will also be able to do a favor to the folks blackberries when you do remove them from the BES and not keep a secure policy on the handheld that stays after a complete wipe.

Though there are ways to remove a policy from a handheld after it is removed from a BES, the procedure is not for the faint of heart. The procedure deals with registry changes and downloading a generic file that clears the corporate policy connection. There are threads in PinStack that detail this.

    Re: Security Policy

Many thanks for the replies so far.

Found the below which looks as though this is what i'll need to do as it wasn't on the BES but someone was just trying to get the data off and kicked off the activation

One question, does this apply to all policies?
