    SBS SERVER 2003 migration-Blackberry implications

    Hi all,

We are rebuilding our SBS Server 2003 onto a new machine and need to know the Blackberry implications as we are trying to avoid having to reactivate each device.

    Our environment is:
    SBS SERVER 2003
    BES 4.0.3 MS Exchange
    MSDE database
    15 users live on BES

New environment will be exactly the same apart from a new SBS Server which we will probably add to the same domain with a different machine name. We will bring the old SBS Server down once we've migrated users to the new SBS Server.

Am I right in saying all we have to do is migrate the users mailboxes then backup the mdf and ldf files on the old SBS Server and restore them to the new one (stopping all services first)? After this, amend the permissions of the BESAdmin Account such as log on locally etc and point the BES to the new SBS Server.

Will this work? or do we need to do anything else to avoid having to create a new database and activate each new device.

    Thanks

    Ant

are you attempting to bring the new SBS Server into the current domain? If so you can only have 1 SBS server within the domain
