Question Remove "shop" icons from BB

Hello all, and thanks in advance.
I am new to Blackberry devices and the BES server, so I apologize if this is elementary; however I have looked through the IT Policy setting and cannot find where I can push out a policy that will remove the various "shop" icons from my BB units. Since purchasing a game/music/applications from these convenient links will automatically bill our corporate account, I would like to remove them from the device so my employees do not inadvertently purchase something.
    Thank you for you time,

You can't remove them, I don't think. I just hide them.

Thanks, is there a way to hide them globally, like from an IT Policy or some way through the BES sever or would I have to do that individually on each device?

Thanks again Brooke, but I'm confused (as a result of lack of knowledge, I'm sure!) But what would the carrier know about the BES server? Can I call the carrier for help on the BES server? Or am I posting this question in the wrong area?

The only icon you can have removed by the policy is the Internet browser

From what I know you can't hide them. You may be able to block them from visiting specific URLs I believe.

We have 450 users on our BES, and I was thinking of bringing it up with the Carrier not to load those services on our Phones. Rogers charges .25cents a webpage for facebook, and it's the very first icon on every Blackberry.

I guess that hiding the icons is the best way to go. It’s going to be hard to override the IT policies that are established and maybe you IT ppl aren’t going to want to spend time in doing this. Just Click ALT Plus the track ball on top of the icon you want to vanish and you can select to hide the specific icon.

The "shop" icons are attached to service books from your wireless carrier; you can always delete them, but they will eventually show back up again

Thank you all for your input! I'm a little dissapointed that even with the BES server, I can't completley control the BB devices. Other than pushing our corporate email to the devices, I thought that was one of the advantages/features of the BES server.
At any rate, thank you all!

You can block the WAP browser via IT Policy and that will remove the icons permanetely. I have tested this on our QA server and it worked with no issues.

There is no actual way to remove the icons (other than to hide them manually on each phone). These are pushed by your carrier. You can, however, prevent the use of the "public social networks"... just search the BlackBerry Technical Solution Center for "Public Social Networking Applications". There is a link for a new policy that you can import to your BES. It will show up in the "Security Policy Group".

Or... try and convince your carrier not to push them? (good luck).
