    Question regarding BES configuration database

    Hi All

I was wondering what exactly the BES database held? I know it holds data on users etc, but what else?

And what is the effect of losing this database or corruption?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Loss of BESMgmt (configuration db) would be equivalent to rebuilding server from ground up. The database contains all the configuration information for your Blackberry domain including SRP, license keys, MDS settings, path to various logs, etc. In such event all users would have to be re-added back to server once its running and each device will need to complete enterprise activation.

Needless to say, it's the single most important file in your environment

Yeah, you might want to back that up.

everynight you should be backing it up.

Not to mention the phones would have to be wiped to get rid of the IT policy, before they can successfully activate on the new BES.

I know this because my phone was activated on a test server.. moving it to production was fun
