I am a BIS user but have my work e-mail pushed to my phone, my question is: If under advanced options > Enterprise Activation i put in my work e-mail and password, what will happen? Will i have access to all the contacts i have on outlook? Is there be any negative issues to be aware of and can it be undone?

Does the company you work for have a BES server to connect to?

Your BES admin has to assign a password for you to be able to connect to the BES. Once that is done, your device is completely controlled by your company and they are able to store & view all of your emails, SMS, call logs, etc.

Do they have access to BB Mesanger conversations? If so, what DON'T they have access to? Also, how about email adderesses not associated with the BES account?

Good questions, wouldn't mind knowing the answer to some of these.

They can keep & store anything from one's Blackberry and have full access and control over the device that is on a BES.

They do not, however, have control over your other email addresses but they can prevent certain access to those BIS addresses if they desire.

First off - to attach to BES, you need the BlackBerry data plan provided by your carrier (not the BIS plan).

Your IS staff may or may not approve your device for BES access since it requires a license to connect, and may not want to allocate a $100 license for you.

Re: What they can/can't see...If the email addresses appears in your address book, then it will show up in your Outlook contacts (and vice/versa).

I do not know about BB Messenger for sure, but from what I can tell at first glance they are not logged (and I do not see an option to log these within the Policy Manager in BES) - updated...they can, see my post below.

However, with that said, PIN, SMS and Phone call logs can be tracked.

Scratch that - there IS a way to track Messenger conversations, but it's clunky.

Messenger conversations can be sent to an email address at an interval defined by the BES admin.

I was told that interval was every 15 min. Am I correct on this?

You might be thinking of the SMS/PIN/Phone call log interval - but the BB Messenger interval is 24 hours (default), but can be adjusted from 1 to 8736(!) hours...
