    Push apps OTA

    Hi everyone,

I was wondering, is there a way to send various applications that I think will benefit my Berry users using the BES (V4.0)?

For example, I'd like to push out BB messanger to all users at the moment.

It would save me getting in touch with all of the users to let them of the product then help them to install it.

    Hope you can advise.

    Thanks

    Re: Push apps OTA

Ok guys..I think I do need a little extra help...

I've done all of the above, which seemed to go very smoothly.

I can even see the app that I want to push OTA in the app list on the BES (4.0)

I then delete the app from my device (as I had it installed already) and reboot the berry. Then I add the software config to my BB but the app doesnt appear on my BB.

    Hewres' what i've got:

On the BES, I've got the Blackberry Diagnostics app to push out to BBs. Just to test then I'll start adding other apps to the list.

To the right of the 'Application Software' i've got the policy set to optional.

Below the 'Application Software' is the actual app itself, Blackberry Diagnostics'.

Delivery is set to wireless. The policy is set to required.

I've then gone to the handhelds tab and assigned the software config to my Blackberry (8310).

Trid a battery pull but still the app doesnt appear on my device.

I've gotta be doing something wrong!

    Any ideas?

I'm with u here Gman1108!! I've got the same problem. I can create the SW Config, see it, configure it, and deploy it from the BES, but it never reaches the BBerry.

    Anyone??

    Scortes,

A very helpful guy advised me on this recently and managed to get it working, you know who are man, thanks!!

Basically, my problem was the device.xml file wasn't up to date.

Once I replaced this it came up strainght away.

I'm told you can get this file from RIM/carrier.

    Good luck
