    'ping' from Berry?

    Hi,

What I could really do with is an app that will ping any pc, server or devise on my network.

I've got a BES 4.0. Is there a piece of software out there that I can install on my 8310 that enables me to ping stuff?

    Thanks.

Ok here is a way on 8320. I know you said you have an 8310 but if it can be done on the 20 it can be done on the 10. Option-wifi connections-menu -wifi diagnostics-menu-ping

Hi, thanks for the thought but 8310 isn't wifi enabled so that feature isn't there.

There's gotta be a way, surely!

The way I can do it at the moment is to launch Mipssh, connect to one of my network routers or switches and ping from there.

Also, I use an RDP connection onto a server and ping using the server.

These are fine but a bit of a 'faff'.

Having a program readily available on me Berry will be ideal.

    Here's hopeing...

RoveMobile software make a suite of products that allow for managment of servers or devices using SSH, ping, RDP. they even have a desktop client that connects to VNC or RDP. It is called mobile admin, it is licensed per server to as many blackberrys users as you want. It runs $245.00 per server and it is well worth it. I have been running mobile admin, mobile SSH, mobile desktop for about 3 years. It never fails that the moment I get on the road of I am at a offsite location there is a problem. Check it out.

The compnay is called rovemobile, the software would not let me post the URL so go to google.

This isn't an app but a wap site that you can ping, trace route, etc from. Very handy.
