    Phone Logs - Enterprise Activation

When I reactivate - phone call logs is x/xxxx - so takes forever, is there a way not to sync or to delete or purge phone logs after a while? I have tried to clear down from device, and the list appears empty but a reactivation has 000's ?!?

    Any ideas?

Open your message program(inbox), select View Folder, scroll down to phone call logs, select the first call on the list, and select delete prior.

Edit: Also make sure you have them set to not log by going into the dialer screen, selecting options, call logging, set to None.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~i believe that setting Call Logging to 'None' (under phone > Options) is only saying, 'Do not display in Message list' (at least that is my experience on 7250, 7130, 8703 and 8830)

    Device will log calls regardless.

In Message list, click 'ALT-P' to sort Phone Logs. Then highlight the date and select 'Delete Prior' to clear them out.

I believe in 4.1 BES, there is an IT policy to disable the backup of Call Logs to the a server. This is working for us currently.

    Hope this helps.

Re: Phone Logs - Enterprise Activation

    Andrew,

I believe you can achieve the result you want by moving the BES log records

    BES 4.0

Move all the log files on your server to a separate backup drive or directory, by default BES logs all call activity and copies the phone log back to the Blackberry during enterprise activation. I only have one months worth of logs on my BES and that’s all the call history I had copied to my BB when I activated a new device

BES 4.1 may be a bit different because it logs call to a separate call log file, I have not had time to test if on moving the PhoneCallLog_<YYYYMMDD>.csv file has the same result

Below is the BES 4.1 extract on switching call logging on off

Monitor PIN messages, SMS messages, and phone calls in a BlackBerry Domain

1.In the BlackBerry Manager, in the left pane, click a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
2.On the Server Configuration tab, click Edit Properties

    3.Click Sync Server

    4.Double-click Audit Root Directory

5.Type the absolute path to the location in which to save the log files, if desired

    6.Click OK

7.In the BlackBerry Manager, in the left pane, click BlackBerry Domain

8.On theGlobal tab, click Edit Properties

    9.Click IT Policy

10.In the IT Policy Administration section, double-click IT Policies

11.In the list of policies, click a policy.

    12.Click Properties

    13.Click PIM Sync Policy Group

14.Perform any of the following actions:

    Action
Monitor SMS messages that users send from BlackBerry devices.
1.Click Disable SMS Messages Wireless Sync
2.In the drop-down list, click False

Monitor PIN messages that users send from BlackBerry devices.
1.Click Disable PIN Messages Wireless Sync
2.In the drop-down list, click False

Do not monitor phone calls that users make on BlackBerry devices
1.Click Disable Phone Call Log Wireless Sync
2.In the drop-down list, click True

    15. Click OK

16.On the computer on which the BlackBerry Synchronization Service is installed, in the Windows Services, restart the BlackBerry Synchronization Service. The BlackBerry Enterprise Server creates the log files using the following formats:

    PINLog_<YYYYMMDD>.csv
    SMSLog_<YYYYMMDD>.csv
    PhoneCallLog_<YYYYMMDD>.csv
