    We are migrating from a Lotus DOmino BES to a Microsoft BES. We are ready to start the testing phase and have deleted a user from the Domino BES. When we try to activate the user on the Microsoft BES we dont get a response from the enterprise activation. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Schott,

    If you can provide more detail, perhaps we can help... such as:

    1.) What DB connection are you using?
    2.) Are there ETP.DAT files showing up in the user's mailbox? Ensure there are that might move these messages or that they're hitting the spam filter
    3.) What's the status screen showing on activation? Do you get to "encryption verified" or it just sits there and then throws an error... if so, what's the error?
    4.) Have you only tried this one device? And have you added and purged the user multiple times or anything along those lines in attempts to get it to work? (This can gum things up, but there's a quick fix there)
    5.) What's your BES version and device version as well?

    We are using Verizon wirless
    The files are showing up
    Unable to connect to host
    we have tried 4 devices and all had to be wiped clean before we could activate on the new BES
    BES and device are latest version

    Schott,

    Sorry for the delay in this response. So the ETP packets are showing up in the user's mailboxes? Please quote and respond in line to each question so I/we can best understand and help:

    1.)When you say "unable to connect to host" are you talking about when you test the SRP connection? If no, please explain...

    2.)What type of installation are you doing? Do you have everything on one box or components installed on diff. servers?

    3.) Also, are you using the MSDE database engine or a SQL server on another box? (This is the critical point, because it's most likely where your troubles are coming from--"PIN Muck" as I call it)

    4.) What other apps/roles are on your box?
