    Question MDS proxy HTTP/HTTPS

    Hello,

We have a BES server version 4.0 (no patch installed for this moment)

I try to configure my BES Server to allow surfing via my internal proxy server (isa server) to disable in the futur the WAP possibilities on the mobiles.

In HTTP 8080 it is good but not in HTTPS 443 (connection refused) - Why ?

In the monitoring of my ISASERVER I see traffic "Unidentified IP Traffic" coming from the BES for HTTP 8080 - Why ?

Sometimes I must authenticate myself several times whereas I ask to remember my password - Why ?

    Any idea ?

    Re: MDS proxy HTTP/HTTPS

MDS uses port 8080 by default. Change the MDS service to use port 9090. You can also set MDS to use HTTP authentication.

    Thank you for your response

But my HTTP trafffic works fine with the port 8080 via my ISAServer and I don't have problem with internal HTTP traffic ... ?

My problem is only with external traffic in HTTPS on port 443

    Re: MDS proxy HTTP/HTTPS

    i have the same problem.

users will get NTLM authentication prompt for http requests, but, no prompt for https requests.

Also confirmed on the proxy server that there is no authentication attached with https requests.

Don't think it is a device issue, I feel it has something to do with the BES 4.1.3.

    Anyone has suggestions? Thanks.

    Re: MDS proxy HTTP/HTTPS

the workaround is to configure proxy username/password on the BES. Users won't need to login anymore.
