    MDS Browser Missing

I recently set up an 8800 for use on our BES. Normally when we do an activation on our BES, the MDS browser shows up on the BlackBerry. In this instance it never appeared. When I look at the home screen, we have the Internet Browser and the MEdia Net Browser. If I go into Browser Options, it gives me 3 options for the default, the Internet Browser, MEdia Net Browser and my company's MDS Browser. Even if I change the default to the MDS Browser, it still does not show up on the BB. Anybody have any ideas? This BB is under the same IT policy as all other BlackBerrys in our company. As a test, I set up an 8700 today and the MDS Browser appeared immediately. We have no other 8800's in our company so I can't test another one of them out. Is there a setting on the BB that might be causing this? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Have you checked to see if the browser may be hidden? Sounds silly but its a shot.

Check the IT policy is set on the device and it allows the blackberry browser. If all else fails, reactivate.

Made sure that the browser was still enabled in the current IT Policy. It is. I resent the policy to the BlackBerry and will wait to see the results when the user comes in later today. I'll keep you posted.

    Re: MDS Browser Missing

I spoke to Cingular and got the following response:

The new 8800 no longer has 3 separate browsers. It now just has the
Media Net Browser, and a combined MDS (blackberry browser) and HTML
    Browser.

I haven't played around with it much to see if there's a way to switch it from MDS to HTML and back or not. Sorry that I forgot to post this answer on the forums though.

    Re: MDS Browser Missing

As far as I can see on my Cingular 8800, the Internet and MDS Browsers share the icon.

If I go to Options - Advanced Options - Browser, I can set up default browser to be either of the two or media.net (wap browser).

However, I haven't found a way to quickly switch from one browser to the other.

On another note, I am currently roaming in Canada, and media.net will not connect. Is there a fix for it?
