Looking for a company BB solution

We are a small company with 5 current blackberry users and 5
    Treo
users and are trying to implement some kind of mobile email policy. The primary function that we use our phones for is phone-email-calender-and contacts and we use MS Exchange server. The number of users is growing every month so I anticipate the number to double.

Currently the treo users use Verizon Active sync while the BB users use BIS to sync with the exchange server. The BB users are satisfied but the Verizon AS does not work well.

What kind of BB solutions can we use that is cost effective and will sync with our Exchange server, can we use off site BES hosting or what is the best way to purchase BES? Is it OK to purchase from
    Ebay
    ? If so what version?

    howitzer,

I would be very careful buying a BES on ebay. You never know what you are getting and as the BES connects with RIM's network, there might be complications in registering it with them.

Also keep in mind that a lot of BES purchases from ebay turn out to be fraudulent. Someone can easily sell you a duplicate SRP ID. When you try to connect with that SRP that is already in use it disables both from the RIM Infrastructure. The user who has it registered can call it in, RIM reenables it, they do an "Investigation" as to what caused the disable and will block the duplicate SRP from trying to connect. I'd recommend purchasing 1 new, from either your carrier or RIM directly.

This may seem stupid but I have read the faq's and cannot figure one thing out.

Can I get an off site host that handles the BES only?

Meaning my company wants the email on site but if I want to work out an Exchange BB solution that will sync with the on site server, can I do that?

Kind of like an enhanced BIS scenario.

Well you could always install your BES on a Virtual Machine. This is only recommended by RIM though if you are using at least BES 4.1.2 and VMWare ESX Server version 2.5.2 or later. (KB04405)

I'd also recommend readin Hayden's thread on "Useful: All about RIM's New Hosted BES! ". It might be the ideal solution for you.
