Well, if you want it over the air you'll need a data plan. You can download BES express and 1 license for free, but I think you'll need a mail server as well.

Yes you would need to have an email server to do that, not quite cost effective. You could always try hosted exchange/BES, more info PM me.

There actually is a convoluted way of doing this for free...

You have to start by having a Google account (go to google dot com slash calendar). Then you need to install and setup Plaxo to sync your Outlook calendar with Google. Then Google has an auto-calendar sync tool that you can download on your blackberry at mobile dot google dot com.

Once all that is done, your Outlook calendar will auto sync with your Blackberry calendar with no BES, no charges, no infrastructure setup at all.

Works like a charm, plus you get the added use of Google calendar and Plaxo. Hope this helps.

Yahoo mail has a utility to sync with outlook, and works on BB.

Google Calendar is the way to go. We don't use BES at our workplace at all, but everyone shares a generic work calendar thats hosted thru Google and its great. Monday comes around and everyone syncs and receives new calendar updates. Even personally I have stopped using MS Outlook for my calendar as Google Calendar stays with you always via BlackBerry and PC

Hey VOD332, will this also sync you contacts or just your calendar?

    Hi

Care to explain further how the Yahoo sync works? I have the BES Professional downloaded but IT says it adds extra weight onto the mail server and not too happy with that idea. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip chatster18, but curious how the Yahoo sync works. The Outlook <-> Yahoo via AutoSync works like a charm but, how do you sync Blackberry <-> Yahoo OTA?

Unfortunately, I believe Google only syncs the calendar.

Google will only sync the calendar. Yahoo will sync with Yahoo Go, not the native apps on the BB.
