    How to install DST patch

    Hi,

BrandNewbie here: My company just got 10 Verizon 8830 World phones (software version 4.2.2). I installed BES 4.1.4 on an SBS 2003 in late February. Users are having Calendar time problems, and I'm thinking the BES needs to be patched. Are there instructions for this somewhere?

Thanks for the reply, but I'm confused. Will this patch the BES or the handheld. I've been told the handhelds don't need the patches.

gkarasik: I had this problem a while back. If you need instructions on applying the DST patch to your BES server, I would search google for results. Its not really a BES/Blackberry specific problem, Its a windows patch.

I fixed this problem by making sure the cdo.dll file version on the exchange server is up to date and the cdo.dll version is the same on BES as it is on Exchange.

Assuming you are running exchange 2003 sp2 your cdo.dll version should be 6.5.7651.61 -most likely the version on your BES server is behind. I copied it over to my BES and overwrote the older version. Once this is done you will need to register it thru the command prompt. (regsvr32 cdo.dll)

    Hope this helps.

Actually, because this is SBS (Microsoft Small Business Server, if you're not familiar with the acronym), BES is loaded on the Exchange server, and there is only one copy of CDO.DLL, which is up to date.

I think I got the problem fixed by exporting all the Calendar items into an Outlook .PST, deleting all the entries from Calendar, then importing them back. The export/import process cleans up any corruption in the database. Seems to have worked (fingers-crossed). Thanks for taking the time to reply.

    Gary,

Sounds like you found a fix. If your issue returns post back and I will ask one of our BES Experts to look in.
