How To: Fix .wav/.mp3 files that "Exceed Server Limit"

Hadn't seen this posted here and we had one of our users on a BES not able to access a file that we sent via email, as he was getting the message: "Attachment size exceeds server value".

By default, they are set to 3MB/3 Minutes, but you can double that to 6 minutes by doing the following, courtesy of the BBTKC:

Complete the following steps:
  1. Go to Start > Run and type regedit.
  2. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Research In Motion/BBAttachEngine/Distillers/LoadAudioDistiller.
  3. Modify the appropriate DWORD value. To increase the maximum file size limit, change the MaxFileSize value to 5000.
To increase the recording length limit, change the MaxDuration value to 360.
Note: The variable type for both DWORD values is Decimal. The MaxFileSize value is expressed in kilobytes; the MaxDuration value is expressed in seconds.
  4. Restart the BlackBerry Attachment Service. Important: Restarting certain BlackBerry Enterprise Server services will delay email message delivery to BlackBerry smartphones.

Do you know of any way to change the values for smeone using a BIS setup. Ive been experimenting with SoonR and it wont let me download files larger than 3mb, I receive that exact same message.

I'm not sure about the BIS. It would depend on how your provider has it setup on their end. Although maybe in your provider's BIS settings there might be an option.
