How do I find BES 3.6 Service pack Level

    Hi all,

I have just started looking after an existing BES 3.6 server and need to know a few things.

    1. How do I find out what Service Pack level my BES is on ?

    2. Are there any issues, with BES when upgarding Exchange 2003 sp1 to SP2

Any help would be much appreciated.

You can click in BES manager. To view help /about and it will show the running version.

Here's info on the service packs:

Re: How do I find BES 3.6 Service pack Level

Just go to help/about inside of Blackberry Manager

If it says 4.0.1 then your running Service Pack 1, if it says 4.0.2 your running Service Pack 2, etc.
The 3rd number is always the Service Pack you are running no matter what version of BES you are on.

To answer your other question regarding an upgrade from Exchange 2003 SP1 to SP2. If your also performing this upgrade on your Exchange Server then make sure you have the send as permission (RIM KB-02276) applied to your service account at the domain level. If you don't do this your users will not be able to send from their handhelds.

To grant the Send As permission for a single account on all users in a Microsoft Active Directory® domain or container, complete the following steps:
    1. Open Active Directory Users and Computers.
    2. From the View menu, select the Advanced Features option. If this option is not selected, the Security page will not be visible for domain and container objects.
    3. Right-click the appropriate domain or container, then click Properties.
    4. On the Security tab, click Advanced.
    5. If the BlackBerry Enterprise Server administration account that needs the Send As permission is not listed, click Add and select the appropriate administration account.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Double-click the administration account.
    8. In the Applies Onto list, select User Objects.
    9. Select the Send As check box.
    10. Click Apply, then click OK.
    11. Close the Properties window, then close Active Directory Users and Computers.
