Exchanging my Exchange server
This may be a daft question; I just want to be sure though. I'm soon to replace my venerable Exchange 5.5 server with something more modern; 2003, a mere 5 years out of date... This will be installed on a new server, initially running in parallel with the old one.
Am I correct in thinking that all I need do to keep my BES happy is change the MAPI profile to the new server and mailbox? This seems too easy; there must be a hitch? Do I also need to install the new Exchange administrator app on the BES, or as I never use it, can I leave it alone?
You will need the new exchange admin app most likely, as it installs the latest CDO libraries, which I believe BES uses. Make sure you install the latest service pack (for Exchange) on the BES server too - they'll only update the admin tools if that's all you have installed, but it's important to keep them at the same revision as the server.
Thanks ZPrime; I'll do that.
