| Enterprise activation problem
Hi, I am trying to activate one of my peoples 8700 to our bes. I have set her up on the bes, but when she does the activation, she gets a server not responding message after about 10 minutes. I have double checked activation passwords, mail is flowing for all of the other users just fine so I thing the BES is ok. She has a good signal, (EDGE). An email went to her outlook account from RIM, I think its the one that the handheld should have grabbed. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for the help |

Is this a new employee? or a new replacement BB for and existing employee? If you have access to the handheld I would sync it to the BES via USB rather than OTA. What version of BES are you running? |

Thanks for the response, This is a new activation, with a new BB. She is in Chicago, and I am in CT, so no I do not have it to do the USB activation. ( I might have to remote to herdesktop and install it if needed) We are on 4.0.1.13 |

Remote to her desktop would work. There was a time when my BES admin could not set anyone up so they remotely activated. Now everything is peachy.

I might have to remote her, its just a PITA to do it that way. OTA activation has been working great for me up until now, just wish I knew what was different.

I had same issue when activating users, same cure helped. But I'm trying to activate another user on an 8800 and when OTA activation completes, he only has emails going back 3 or 4 days. His Calendar is ok, all his contacts are ok. Tried installing Desktop Manager on his pc and syncing while his device was connected via USB to his pc, but this did the same. Also, once activated, he doesn't get meeting requests properly. He only gets them as normal emails and can't accept or reject them. I have tried wiping his device, deleteing him from the BES server, also a different device, 8300. I'm using BES server 4.1.4.12 on a Win 2003 server. The user has Outlook 2003 with all service packs and security updates on a Win XP sp2 pc. All other users are working perfectly on their Blackberry devices. |

I have managed to solve my activation problem by going through Blackberry Support article KB13292 and increasing the maximum age of old emails from 5 days to 14 days and increasing the max number of emails to 750 from 200. Still can't figure out why he can't accept meeting requests. cdo.dll version is 6.5.7638.2, Microsoft download site has 6.5.7640.2, Blackberry supprt site shows latest as 6.5.7651.2. Where can I get this 7651.2 version? All other users can accept or decline meeting requests. |
