    Question Calendar Synchronization

    Hey guys,

We are having an issue where some users are having the Calendar issue where things are synchronizing from Exchange to the BB, but not from the BB to Exchange.

I have tried all of the usual tactics with no luck, anybody got some ideas on what is wrong.

    Thanks!

    Re: Calendar Synchronization

    Checked the CDO dlls
Verified permission to logon locally, logon as services, View-Only admin, etc.
Verified permissions in AD for users
    A few others...

Is there only one BB doing this? If so you could always try reactivating it.

Nah, it is more than one. I am frustrated messing with this thing, want to take and create a case with RIM but don't know how much it will cost.

Any thoughts, I could use them!!

    Re: Calendar Synchronization

    Try this.

This is done on your exchange server...

    'Delegate Control settings'

    1. Go to START > PROGRAM > MICROSOFT EXCHANGE > System Manager

    2. From Exchange System Manager right mouse click "DOMAINNAME (Exchange)" and select "Delegate Control"

    3. From Delegate Control a wizard will start. Ensure BESadmin is listed as "Exchange View Only Administrator ".

    4. Once you have closed the wizard go to the "Servers" folder (on our installation it's under Administrative Groups) and right click your server name, select properties and then the "Security Tab". From security go to the user in the list BESadmin, once select you will see the list of security option below. From the list just go down to the bottom and ensure "Send As, Receive As" is selected, scroll up a little in the list and ensure "Administrator Information Store" is selected.

This fixed it for us when we experienced the same issue, if it doesn't work I'm very curious to why and will help research...

    Re: Calendar Synchronization

Calendar issues from BB to Oulook are 9 times out of 10 linked with Permission.
Ensure BES is installed under a seperate service account, not administrator. Ensure the service account is not a member of Domain Admins.
Ensure the service account only has Enxchange view only permissions through delegate control.
Ensure the service account has "send as, receive as, administer information store privledges to all exchange servers in your domain, or the ones specific to BlackBerry.
    Ensure the correct CDO.DLL is registered on the BES. I.e Exchange 2003 - 6..6944, Exchange 2003 SP2 - 6.5.7638.
NB. Forget the book when it says "regsvr32 cdo.dll" as this will invariably regiater the cdo.dll in exchsvr\bin. Run "regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\cdo.dll

Once you have made these changes, service pack the bes server, ideally latest service pack. The, re-enterprise the users device.

Upon activation monitor the BES-MAGT File, at the bottom for what activity is happening. If Calendar is failing you should see "CDO failed to intialize - CALhelper error". If works, then normal traffic will appear.

    Re: Calendar Synchronization

It might be the settings for the user. Make sure that they are set to sync both ways instead on 1 way.
