    Calendar entries duplicating

    I run Bes 4.1.6 with Exchange 2007
As of about a week or so ago, any appointment entered on the blackberry duplicates itself repeatedly (in multiples of four). I can't seem to spot a reason why it's doing this. Nothing was changed or updated when this started occurring. There are some logs around the duplications which I'll past below. Any help or advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Does it duplicate itself when entered in via Outlook?

Under the Service Book entries of that device, what [Desktop] entries does it show?

No it's only when the entry is made from the device, outlook created events are fine.
This affects every device on the BES.

As for service books, there are none that are [Desktop] but serveral that have Desktop and then [XXXX]. Those are BrowserConfig, SYNC, OTASL, MDS, IPPP, CMIME, BBIM, CICAL

Delete the service books, remove the device from the BES and reactivate the device through Enterprise Activation. See if that resolves the issue.

I had already done the basics like this. I've also done complete wipes and tried new devices. This still happens on all devices and to all accounts.

Then this has to be a BES/Exchange issue and not device related. Hopefully one of the BES experts around here can help resolve the issue.

We recently had this issue on our BES.

We were moving Exchange users from one mail server to another. After the users moved over everything on BES synced up just fine except that the devices had two copies of each appointment showing. The appts were fine in Exchange.

Worked the call through T-support, then found out that our CDO.DLL versions were slightly out of sync between Exchange and BES. (Be sure to read the docs on this before trying it.) We updated the BES and the users we moved after that were just fine.

To fix the other devices T-support gave us a clue, but you have to do it on each device. No way to push it out, unfortunately.

    Try this:
    1. go to calendar
    2. Click the option button
    3. select "Options"
--- Side question - how many calendars to you see here?
    4. type RSET here. (just type it, there is no field to type in.)
    5. "This will erase your Desktop calendar, and reload it from the server. Continue?" - say YES.
    6. Calendar should now be blank, and then shortly resync with exchange. Hopefully duplicate-free.

So, give that a shot and be sure to report back.

We did do an exchange server move recently. But I'm not sure that the problem you described is my problem. The move was a couple months back and there was no duplication at that time. The only enteries that duplicate are when a user inputs a new event on his device. You then end up with that event three times in the outlook and four times on the blacberry. It takes about ten to fifteen minutes before these duplicates appear.

Are your DLL's the same on BES and exchange, or within the tolerances listed in the docs?

are you referring to the cdo.dll? It's exchange 2007 and uses the Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects instead of the cdo.dll matching.

Ah, sorry, missed the exchange 2007 part.

    I think I'd call t-support - sorry.
