    Blackberry Attachment issue

    Hi,
I was wondering if anybody has seen an issue on the BB 8800 where attachments like WORD and EXCEL, seem to get turned into rubbish ? It doesn't open the whole document which is normal - and you can prompt for " view more". When you view more, you still just see random text.
The bb will open small .txt files fine.

The BB is administered by BES and there are only a couple of users affected out of a few hundred. All user have the same policy applied to their accounts.

The steps I've taken so far are as follows :

Set up user on a different device - issue still remained.
Rebuilt the device - issue still remained
Removed all traces of the use from the BES and readded them - issue still remained.
Sent the same maisl to different BB users and it was received and opened correctly.
Rebooted the BES - issue still remained.

Any help would be much apprecited - Thanks
    Kind regards,

Are you getting any errors? Are you using MS Office 2007?

Maybe an issue with their State DBs or mailfiles

    Re: Blackberry Attachment issue

I know that there is an issue with MS Office 2007 Word attachments that RIM hasn't resolved yet, not sure if it applies to Excel.

I don't know if this will help, but I had one user that would all the sudden have issues with attachments - I resent the service book to their device and that seemed to fix the problem.

    Re: Blackberry Attachment issue

First, is this Exchange, Domino, or Groupwise?

Second, HOW, exactly did you wipe the device? What was done? What model of device is it?

Third, HOW, exactly did you remove the user (and purportedly all traces of the user) from BES?

This could be caused by a lot of things.

but if you factory-wiped the handheld, purged the user from BES, and purged the state database for the user from BES, then performed enterprise activation again, and it still doesn't work, you may be looking at one of three things. 1. permissions issue for the user. 2. mail server (mail file) problem 3. need to reinstall BES (but this is usually not the case unless everyone is affected). At least that's what I see from a IBM Lotus Domino perspective.
