BIS activation denied by my Service provider

    Hi

My service provider is allowing BIS activation only for devices bought from him at a higher price while the open market price is less.

So when I want to register on his BIS site, I get the mesage that the PIN is not from him & hence I can;t register it.

I sent an email to RIM but they relied that they can't help it.

Is it Legal for a service provider to block BIS services for 3rd party device? My phone is ativated on the same NW & I am using it as a Phone wout BIS features.

Is RIM right in refusing to intervene?

Pl guide me on way fwd.

    Thanks

Yes. They are purely a phone manufacturer and provide the bis service. They have no control on what the service provider sets as rules or guidelines to follow.~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~
