BES Sync with Contacts w/Sub Folders

I have a client that has 4 separate subfolders of Contacts with in their default Contacts folder. We are having an issue completing the wireless activation, it will hang @ 12%-13%, contacts of course.

My main question is; can a person sync 4 separate subfolders of Contacts wirelessly via Enterprise activation.

I have been up and down the RIM KB for hours and cannot find a solution.

If anyone can shed some light it would be greatly appreciated.

Just in case; BES 4.0.x with Exchange 2003

I have successfully synced a single subfolder with about 300 contacts using both wired and wireless activation. However, it was only one subfolder, and it was directly under the Contacts folder.

Assuming you're in an Exchange/Outlook environment, check my post here on Calendar conflicts - they can disrupt sync with other databases.

Also, in the same vein, view all Contacts as a Phone list and add "Size" to the column. Make sure no messages or appointments have gotten dropped into the folder by accident - you can tell quickly by the Icon in the list. If you find any, move them to where they belong. I'd also adjust any entries that are larger than 1 Meg.

The setup is in Outlook. There is nothing to set up on the BlackBerry side.

In Outlook, if you Right Click on the Contacts folder and select New Folder, give it a name, and make sure that the "Folder Contains" drop down list says "Contact Items", they will be pushed to the BlackBerry just as if they were in the regular Contacts folder.

At least that's the way it works for me!

I just encountered this, client wants to sync a subfolder of contacts that is imported from a .csv file each month.
I had to go to desktop manager, synchronize, configuration, configure synch to add the subfolder to the list of contact folders from the mailbox that sync. After about 30 minutes, all 300 contacts in the subfolder were on my BB.
This is with an 8800, Exchange 2003, Outlook 2003 and DT mgr 4.3

Are the sub contact folders marked as "Addressbook outlook"?

    1. Right click the sub contact folder(s)
    2. Go to properties
    3. Go to tab "Addressbook Outlook"
    4. Mark the checkbox

hi, weird, the behaviour between calendar and contact is not the same :
subfolders of contacts are synced, but not subfolders from calendar.

do you have the same ?
or is it a wrong setting in my outlook calendar subfolder ?

    cheers
