Question BES Location Based Tracking View?

I saw this brought up a while ago, but there was no definitive answer. Does anyone know any method to visualize the data that is collected by the Enterprise Server's Location based tracking setting.

It has been stated that the data is stored at the following SQL location:
    Table: SyncLBS
    Columns:
    Id
    UserConfigId
    RecordType
    RecordTimestamp
    ServerTime
    Latitude
    Longitude
    Altitude
    DeviceStatus
    Data

Now, does anyone have any idea on how to make this useful? Would RIM implement a setting such as this on the BES without giving at least a start of an idea of how to use it in real world, beneficial method?

    Any help would be appreciated.

mBiztech offers a product though I am not sure it is truly BES integrated.

The best possibility I see is utilizing the Google Maps API to reference the information stored in the database. However I have not yet seen a working demonstration.

    Hi,

You can write something that pulls the lat/long from the database and plots it to a custom google map. I have friends who do that for geo caching.

Would anyone be savy enough with MS SQL to assist in the creation of a SQL string to pull the information from the SQL server?

Select * from SyncLBS where "Id" = "device pin"

It's rough and I'm not the best at SQL queries, but it'll look something like that. You may have to sub ConfigUserId for Id, but try playing with it and see what you can pull out. Hope it at least gets you started in the right direction.

Re: BES Location Based Tracking View?

Ive played with the SQL and have that worked out. The problem is that my database isnt populated with anything. ive turned on location based tracking for a couple test units, and the database is empty. There are no coordinates to pull from it. Does anyone know what could be wrong? Has anyone successfully implemented location based tracking and had data to show for it in your synclbs table?

I just turned it on for a test user to see if it works.

Did you check that Location Based Services was enabled on the device?
